Family mediation is a voluntary and confidential process designed to help you resolve the issues of a separation or divorce (child custody, child support/alimony, division of property, etc.), all without going through an exhausting and costly litigation process.
As a lawyer and mediator, Ana Henriquez does not impose any decisions on you. Her role is to facilitate a smooth dialogue, allowing you to express your needs and reach fair agreements. You do not need to have all the answers right now: you just need to be ready to move forward, one step at a time, in a neutral and impartial setting.
Parental responsibilities: Child custody, access rights schedule, and division of holidays.
Financial support: Child support/alimony and sharing of expenses.
Patrimony/Assets: Division of property and assets (e.g., sale of the family residence and sharing of the net gain).
Communication: Optimizing parental collaboration and conflict resolution mechanisms.
Family mediation
*In cases of domestic violence, mediation is not excluded but remains strictly regulated. This rigorous framework ensures above all the protection and safety of the vulnerable person.
Litigation
If you are in a confrontational situation and need to be represented, book an appointment with one of our specialized lawyers.
1. Primer contacto
Fill out the form in the ''Send a mediation request'' section so we can analyze your situation and get back to you quickly to start the process.
2. Preliminary evaluation
Before starting, we ensure that mediation is safe and suited to your situation. We will then evaluate your eligibility for subsidized mediation by the Ministry of Justice, which could offer you a block of free hours:
| Couples with children | 5 free hours (first recourse) |
| Couples without children | 3 free hours (first recourse) |
|
Revision of an agreement or judgment |
2.5 free hours |
* Note: This is a block of hours, not a number of meetings. This time also includes the drafting of your agreement.
* Regulated rate: $130/hour (plus taxes) once the free hours are exhausted.
3. Mediation sessions
We move forward step by step to build a structured agreement, focusing on concrete and applicable solutions.
4. Summary of agreements
Once the agreement is completed, the
mediator will send you a "summary of agreements" that includes the entirety of your agreements.
5. Next steps
To transform your agreements into a judgment
(divorce, separation, or custody), a separate step from mediation is required. At this stage, Me Henriquez will act as a lawyer for both of you to draft the joint application and the final
agreement. She will then ensure they are homologated by the court to make them legally binding.
Fill out the form below and we will contact you within 24 to 72 business hours.
Understanding is not the absence of differences; it is the discovery of common ground.
