Ana Henriquez

Member of the Quebec Bar, Ana Henriquez launched her own law firm in 2016. Strong and determined, she is convinced that hard work and perseverance are the key to success.
Her practice is both family and immigration law. She is dedicated in divorce cases, especially for domestic and gender-based violence. But also, in defending asylum seekers.
In addition, when Ana Henriquez was still in Law School, she participated to the Pro Bono Program as an intern, and qualified for an award for her involvement and was introduced into the Honour Roll at the Faculty of Political Science and Law at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM)
Since 2000, Ana Henriquez is also member of the Columbian Bar « Consejo Superior de la Judicatura ». She also has a specialization in public law since 2005. Before arriving in Canada, she already had seven years of experience in civil, public and criminal law.

Camila Velasquez

Camila Velasquez is a member of the Quebec Bar since 2021. Graduated of the Bachelor of Laws from Sherbrooke University, Camila Velasquez has quickened her thinking and wanted to widen her horizons in choosing a combine program with an MBA.
While in Law School, Camila Velasquez was involved in several charity causes, especially in writing a manual for immigrant women victims of domestic violence. This was elaborate in partnership with the Pro Bono organization. She was also the vice-president for the intercultural organisation World University Service of Canada (WUSC).
Always curious about other cultures and passionate about traveling, Camila Velasquez studied abroad for one semester at Alfonso X el Sabio University in Madrid – Spain.
Camila joined HA in may 2016 when she graduated from a Paralegal Technology Program, and she is still part of the team but now as a lawyer.

Ludmila Lupu

Me Lupu joined our team as an articling student and then as an attorney. She immigrated to Quebec in 2015, having a Bachelor's law degree from the Free International University of the Republic of Moldova and a master's degree in European Union law from the University "Spiru Haret" from Romania. Envisioning her future within the beautiful province, she has done her equivalences at the University of Montreal to integrate into the Bar School in 2021.
Before immigrating to Quebec, Me Lupu worked as a legal advisor for the Ministry of Justice of Moldova for over nine years. This experience allowed her to gain valuable experience in legal research and drafting and to learn to understand the needs of others better.
Me Lupu is determined, rigorous, and attentive. Driven by her desire to learn new fields, she studied at the Estonian School of Diplomacy. To familiarize herself with the legal systems of different countries, she has participated in several training courses in Japan, the United States, Greece, Lithuania, and Belgium.
She is quadrilingual and can provide legal advice in English, French, Romanian, and Russian.

Noémie Leblanc

After completing her legal internship at our firm, Me Leblanc joined Henriquez Avocats as an attorney in 2026. Passionate about law and committed to refining her practice, she chose to continue her career with the firm.
Her open mindedness to the world and sensitivity to human issues were shaped by her bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Modern Languages at Université Laval, her law degree at the Université de Sherbrooke, and her exchange programs in Mexico and Belgium. These experiences also refined her command of the three main languages spoken in the Americas. Her involvement with Lawyers Without Borders, the Red Cross in Brussels, and Quebec’s Support Network for Migrant Agricultural Workers confirmed that she was following the path that truly suited her.
Through her experiences with refugees, migrant workers, and families in transition, she developed an empathetic ear, a sense of detail, and a deep understanding of migratory journeys, which now ground her distinctly human-centered approach. Passionate about history, literature, and the outdoors, she aims to contribute to a fairer society, where everyone can find their place and grow with dignity.

Teodora Banu
Lawyer
Me Teodora Banu, a graduate of the Bachelor of Laws at the University of Montreal, has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2024. From the outset, she quickly demonstrated her commitment to defending the rights of marginalized groups and facilitating access to justice.
This commitment began during her time at Cégep Jean-de-Brébeuf, where she founded the institution's only LGBT+ committee, continuing this work throughout her university studies by putting her knowledge to public service at the University of Montreal’s Legal Clinic, thus working to make the law more accessible to the public.
Determined to defend everyone’s rights with rigor and conviction, Me. Banu began her career as a criminal lawyer, primarily focusing on defending the rights of Indigenous peoples in Quebec. In 2025, she joined the team at Henriquez Avocats, driven by her strong desire to contribute to the search for truth and fairness.
With great authenticity and a keen ear, Me. Banu is committed to defending her clients with dedication and determination, both in criminal law and in immigration and family law matters.

Brenda Isleno
Legal Assistant
Daughter of Salvadoran immigrant parents, Brenda is aware of the challenges and sacrifices related to immigration. Born in Canada, she grew up in a large family where Hispanic culture and language were central, and she had the opportunity to take Spanish courses from elementary school to stay connected to her roots.
Passionate about traveling and fascinated by different cultures, she enjoys discovering the world and immersing herself in new experiences. Her curiosity and open-mindedness allow her to better understand the needs and concerns of others, creating a reassuring environment for her clients and those around her.
After obtaining her diploma in general secretarial studies, she worked at the front desk of Henriquez Avocats, developing her organizational and customer service skills. She then pursued training in legal secretarial studies, completing an internship in business, criminal, and penal law. However, she knew from the start that her true passion lay in immigration and family law. This is how she returned to Henriquez Avocats, convinced that these areas reflect her values and her desire to help people during important moments in their lives.
Jacqueline López
Legal Assistant
Jacqueline joined Henriquez Avocats in May 2023 as an intern in the immigration department. As a result of her hard work and diligence, she was hired a few weeks later as an immigration manager.
In her studies in psychology, she realized that immigration was her true passion, as helping people is something she values greatly. She graduated from the Canadian Immigration Management program at College Herzing. She enrolled in this fall's certificate program in immigration and interethnic relations at the University of Quebec at Montréal due to her interest in the subject.
Since Jacqueline is an immigrant herself, she knows how important it is to manage an immigration file. In her work environment and with her clients, she strives to reflect empathy, professionalism, and respect.
Luz María Sotelo

At the beginning of 2025, Henriquez Avocats welcomed Luz María, convinced of her rigor and deep sense of justice. Her desire to help others and contribute positively to our society drives her to provide compassionate support to the firm’s clients.
Originally from the state of Jalisco, Mexico, Luz María holds a law degree from the University of Guadalajara. She practiced civil law as a lawyer before turning to teaching. After teaching social sciences, humanities, and English—thanks to her accreditation from Cambridge’s TKT program—she contributed to the creation of new educational programs. This path led her to deepen her knowledge of pedagogy with a master’s degree in literacy.
Upon arriving in Canada, she became actively involved in a multicultural organization, which allowed her to strengthen her language skills and gain new perspectives through artistic, cultural, and inclusion-focused projects. To combine her legal expertise with her social commitment, she completed the paralegal program at Ahuntsic College.
Luz María embodies the values of professionalism, attentiveness, and dedication. For her, law is a means of helping others and making a positive impact on their lives.
Mairym Correa

Originally from Venezuela, Mairym arrived in Montreal driven by a curiosity about the world. Since March 2025, her warmth and positive energy have been a valuable addition.
Mairym studied International Studies at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), and later completed a diploma in International Law at the University of the Caribbean in Curaçao. This was just the beginning of a journey filled with learning and challenges. Her professional path led her to serve as Executive Director of the Ibero-American Federation of Young Entrepreneurs (FIJE), where for five years she managed teams, led large-scale projects, and promoted collaboration among entrepreneurs. This journey showed her that challenges can be turned into achievements, even when they seem impossible.
Passionate about traveling and discovering new cultures, Mairym believes these experiences broaden our worldview and help us appreciate the differences that enrich us. Upon arriving in Quebec, she took on the challenge of learning French—an accomplishment that has allowed her to connect with people from all over the world. Throughout her life, she has come to understand that success is rooted in passion for what we do and dedication to every step along the way.
Emmy Labbé

Emmy joined Henriquez Avocats’ team in 2023, initially as a law student and currently as a legal intern. Her rigor and commitment to every case are consistently reflected in the quality of her work.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and international law from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), as well as a law degree from McGill University. She is deeply passionate about international issues and human rights within the field of immigration. Her openness to the world and cultural curiosity led her to work at a legal clinic for migrants in Peru, complete a study abroad program in Spain, and volunteer with various organizations supporting immigrants both in Canada and abroad.
Trilingual in French, English, and Spanish, Emmy channels her determination, dynamism, and perseverance into serving every client. Recognized by her peers for her dedication and continuous drive for excellence, she is committed to finding compassionate and effective solutions to make a meaningful difference in every case.
Marvin de la Espriella

His passion has always been digital marketing, new technologies, and communication. He is a tireless explorer and autodidact. His motto is: "discover the great potential of things, even if they seem small."
About ten years ago, Marvin realized that many Montreal businesses were less present on the Internet and were not profiting from this great expansion tool. That is when he decided to offer his services as a web strategist to several legal, tourism, and educational companies to help them build customer loyalty and improve their visibility and positioning in the digital world.
Between 2017 and 2020, as a consultant for Henriquez Avocats, he was responsible for the company's digitalization process to improve team productivity and structuring and to implement an annual web marketing plan. In 2021, de la Espriella joined Henriquez Avocats as a digital marketing manager.
Marvin holds a degree in Communication and Journalism from the Universidad Autónoma del Caribe in Colombia and a degree in Graphic Design from the Ahuntsic College in Montreal.
Isabella Velasquez

As a graduate in Web Marketing Strategies from O’Sullivan College, Isabella uses her creativity, strategic mind, and sense of aesthetics to provide quality informative content and establish authentic connections with the audience. She joined the marketing department of Henriquez Avocats in 2022 with a clear goal: to make legal information accessible to everyone through social media
Isabella is a sensitive person passionate about human connections, which led her to participate in humanitarian trips to Costa Rica and Jamaica. At the same time, she is fascinated by the world of acting, a realm that has allowed her to explore various emotions and live different realities through the characters she has portrayed. She is also an amateur painter in her spare time and finds profound serenity in analyzing art, whether it be visual, written, or oral.
To further her knowledge in this field, Isabella is continuing her studies in marketing with a focus on advertising at UQAM. She is passionate about creation and aims to discover new ways of thinking. Isabella embraces all challenges without hesitation and loves to venture into the unknown.
